Test transmissions began today from the newest provider of DAB transmissions in North Staffordshire, the Alternative Broadcast Company. Having been given the go ahead from Ofcom to commence broadcasts DAB Stoke began its broadcasts at midnight on Monday 3rd July. The first station to take part in the project was new commercial channel Blue Sky Radio which had already commenced its programmes on the Congleton and Leek and South Cheshire SSDAB muxes a few weeks before.

Steve Perry, one of the directors of the Alternative Broadcast Company said, “This is a big moment for us. Having worked on this with the team since 2015 this has been a long road and so we’re thrilled to see it finally come to fruition.”
