Stoke-on-Trent MP David Williams ended up delayed by an airport security search due to a particular item, in his hand luggage. The Labour politician – who represents Stoke-on-Trent North and Kidsgrove – was rumbled as he was flying out of Birmingham Airport at the weekend.
Ensuring he did not miss out on his favourite breakfast while on a holiday, the MP packed a large bag of 6TR (Six Towns Radio) oatcake mix in his bag. But a keen-eyed border officer was quick to spot the sizeable packet of powder which then had to be tested.
Of course, many people will ask, “What’s an Oatcake?”…but if you know, you know!
